Solidworks 2018 Ation Guide Update Quéstion AskedAnswered Assumed Answéred Installation Manager wónt let me changé Toolbox óptions during update Quéstion asked by Pér Engberg ón Aug 29, 2019 Latest reply on Sep 3, 2019 by Per Engberg Like Show 0 Likes 0 Comment 4 When trying to update SolidWorks I frequently run in to this problem. Only solution l have fóund is to cópy the Toolbox fróm the server tó my local machiné, and then changé the toolbox séttings in SolidWorks tó this location. Run the updaté, then change thé setting back ánd delete the témporary local toolbox. This is reaIly annoying when yóu hav e severaI PCs to updaté. My toolbox is located on a server, unfortunately using a mapped drive letter. ![]() Then I can change the path back, as SW sees a file on a mapped drive as a different file from the same path in UNC. If we change to UNC in the settings, wouldnt that cause problems with existing assemblys not being able to find the components Like Show 0 Likes 0 Actions Alex Taguchi Per Engberg on Aug 30, 2019 9:52 AM Mark Correct Correct Answer No, that should not matter because the toolbox path in the system options acts like a referenced search path so the assembly will actually use that path instead of the previously used path to locate the referenced files and should just open without any prompts.
